About PSW Hunt for the Rares

Built to remove the guesswork from rare hunting.

Rare hunting in World of Warcraft can mean waiting around, checking chat, wondering whether a rare is dead, protected, about to become attackable, or even part of the same spawn cycle. HFTR was created to bring that information together without taking control away from the player.

01
Why it exists

Less waiting. Less noise.

PSW Hunt for the Rares gives rare hunters one place for supported rare status, protected timers, kill history, routes, waypoints, collection progress and useful loot information. The goal is simple: spend less time guessing and more time actually hunting.

02
How the addon works

Observe, remember and synchronize.

HFTR watches game information that World of Warcraft makes available to addons. It can identify supported rares, maintain live status, remember kills, track protected timers and synchronize rare state with other HFTR users. Character and account-wide history stay available between sessions through WoW SavedVariables.

03
Community data

Real observations become useful statistics.

The optional HFTR Companion can upload anonymous loot observations from supported rares and download aggregated community data. Over time this can build observed drop rates, sample counts, rare-specific loot tables, current-expansion gearing information, and legacy mount and toy data.

04
Player control

Smarter, not automatic.

HFTR can automatically update tracker information and synchronize rare status, but it does not play the game for you. Chat sharing, waypoints, routes, countdowns and other player-facing actions require an explicit click or keybind.

The HFTR philosophy

Make rare hunting smarter, not automatic.

HFTR is designed to give players better information while keeping every gameplay decision in the player's hands.
